Computerised Gait Scan Analysis
One of the many processes we assess you by at TCPN is to look at the way you walk, stand and generally move around so that we can identify the presence of any obvious deformity or malfunction but also pick up small changes before they start to cause graver problems.
Being able to this quickly and effectively mean that we can assess and reassess our patients on a regular basis to make sure that you are receiving the best possible care and all your needs are met.
Although it is often not clear to people at first why the way we walk is so important it quickly becomes obvious as a thorough understanding of the way we walk and stand is a great contribution to knowing more about how you move in your day-to-day. Even small deviation from the optimal movement patterns can cause damage and pain when sustained over long periods of time⦠prevention at its best!
The gait scanner is a pressure sensitive plate which through thousands of sensors picks up when and how your feet touch the ground, resulting in an accurate digital biomechanical record of your gait.
Now we can make quick and accurate recommendations how to treat any problems you may have which are either caused or made worse by foot problems, thereby avoiding costly and unnecessary treatment.
If there are indeed problems with the feet, we can either prescribe non-customised orthotics (arch supports) or when necessary refer out to people specialised in making customised orthotics to realign and stabilise the bones in your feet, in order to restore a natural walking pattern.
